Cytat:There is a collins CD ROM PL-GB/GB-PL dictionary (NOT translator) on the
market. Has anyone tried it? Is it worth buying or is there something I can
downloand on the net somewhere.
You cannot download it from the net AFAIK. It is a commercial software.
I have used it
for a few months and I like it. The biggest nuisance is that unless you
are registered you have to keep the original cd in the drive, while
working. Upon registration you get a password enabling hdd operation,
but it is invalidated when you change your pc configuration.
Surely this is not the most comprehensive English-Polish dictionary, and
forget about finding any scientific or technical term there. It has many
phrases and collocations, and this is the best part for me. To give you
a general idea, I quote from an entry for "make":

You are making a terrible mistake.

PS Some time ago the publishers (YDP) offered it at a discounted price
with 10 issues of Reflex English (a course for beginners). It was 40 PLN
off the regular price (169 PLN).
